Obeying YHWH can make you sick
by fulltimestudent inwe were once told and re-told that obedience to yhwh and his side-kick would save our lives..
so how about this bit of real-life research that's currently emerging in academic circles?.
there were strict rules in the law code about how and where you could sh*t..

Would I lie to you?
by slimboyfat ingiven recent posts on the forum and discussion, maybe we could play this game: would i lie to you?
in the uk we have this tv programme where minor celebrities tell weird or embarrassing stories about themselves and the rest of the participants have to guess if it is a true story or made up.
when the others have voted then the person reveals if the story is true or false.

Pete that's four stories! I guess the naked GB member and the Diana stories are TRUE!
Slim, you are correct on both accounts.
When I was at Bethel, I sat at the Governing Body table where they conducted the morning worship every day so I got to meet and get to know them all including Fred and Ray Franz, Nathan Knorr and Dan Sydlik etc. Late one evening I went to the Bethel Pool . It was deserted which is what I was hoping for. I walked into the tiny locker room and there was Dan Sydlik (60+) standing there in the "altogether"(ewww). He looked startled and kind of P.O'd that I'd walked in at that moment and we both sort of froze. I didn't know what to do...just squeezed past his Lily white bulk, put my towel in a locker and got out of there. It was awkward to see him at the table for awhile after that. When I told my room mate about it he started cracking jokes and asking me if I'd seen his Governing Body "Member" or his Little Bethelite. The story about Diana is true. I also have a cousin (who's name you'd recognize) who designed some of the gowns Diana was famous for. Some of them ended up in a "Diana" museum somewhere. My Uncle used to work security at the Palace and used to ride dirt bikes with Prince Charles. -

in my opinion by encouraging this it paints everyone here in a bad light and only feeds the negative connotation jw'lurkers and WT adherents feel about apostates anyway that all we do is lie.
So now that I'm a NON JW, I'm supposed to display "exemplary behavior" lest I bring reproach upon other Non JW's ??
Sorry, I thought this was just a little game. Hopefully a "lurking" JW will realize this and be more concerned with why he or she is visiting an apostate website rather than trying to find fault with the posters on it. Besides, I left all that kind of pressure and nonsense behind a few years ago.

Would I lied to you??
I traveled with Aerosmith during their 1999 "9 Lives" tour, as a crew member setting up their sound system and lighting. Steven Tyler would fly in just before the concert. I was asked to pick him up at a private airport in Atlanta (his manager trusted me, an honest fresh faced JW) I had been reading the latest magazines while I waited for his plane to come in. He asked me about them as we drove to the Hotel but was absolutely not interested in anything that serious.
Would I lie to you??
My Great Great Grandfather (on my Mother's side) and Lady Diana's (Princess of Wales) Great Great Grandfather, (on her Mother's side) were brothers. When Dianna married Charles, we didn't attend because the wedding was held in Westminster Abbey (Babylon the great) and also because of the fact that we simply weren't invited.

Would I lie to you ??
I walked into a room one time and actually saw one of the Governing Body members (and his member) bare ass naked.
Would I lie to you??
I called on a Presbyterian minister at the door when I was in high school and he was so taken by my presentation and ability to use the bible, he asked me to speak to his congregation. I gave a talk in his Church the following Sunday entitled "Getting out of Babylon the Great". Several people began studies and as far as I know are still JW's to this day.

Lawrence Onoda, Ph.D., Jehovah's Witness Psychologist
by Maryo inin about 1980 i came to know of and meet one time with lawrence onoda, ph.d., a jehovah's witness psychologist [also i think elder] in southern california.
i was shocked to know there was such a thing in view of the wts traditional stance against jws consulting such a person!
he had been one of jws for six years at that time, i recall.

Before leaving the JW's I was plagued for years with terrible terrible anxiety. (It magically disappeared less than 2 weeks after I stopped going to meetings btw)
Before making my exit, I had a couple of visits with a JW who was a psychologist "counselor" and to be honest, she seemed very troubled herself. Before she would begin our sessions, she had me sign a release saying that if anything unscriptural was revealed during our sessions, she'd have to report it to the elders. She asked me if I thought my anxiety was caused by a bad conscience and if I was doing anything wrong. She even asked me to leave the room and called my wife in from the waiting room and I found out later that she asked my wife if I'd ever cheated on her or been doing anything wrong. I couldn't believe it ! I'd have sued anyone else for that.
It was weird to see her sitting a few seats away at the next assembly and seeing her giving me sideways glances. Luckily I made my exit a year or so later and as I said, anxiety hasn't been a problem since. The problem was not with me having a bad conscience rather it was caused by going to funeral like meetings 3 times a week and being told the world was going to end any minute, since I was a little boy. Real counselors know this is called PSD and child abuse.

S.A.D. Observations from the assembly.
by Darkknight757 inso we had brother losch visiting our special assembly day which was weird in itself.
he's not a very good speaker and seemed like he was in dire need of a nap or something.. anyways just a few observations from the assembly program.
theme: imitate their faith.

The brother mentioned the May 1990 Watchtower which mentions that unless you are baptized Yah may not be listening to your prayers. So it seems to me that this is a way to pressure people to get baptized so they can have that "unrestricted" approach to God. So was Jesus' prayers "restricted" prior to His baptism? I would think not being the Son and all.
What about all those unbaptized people who supposedly were praying to God for help and a JW arrived at their front door a few minutes later?

Had the C.O visit this week...went out on service and Wow
by MrsR-Awaken inthis is my first post here (not being comments) but i still have to tell my story but for that i need to get my mind together in other to give as much detail as possible to be able to share it.
will do in a future post.. anyway i had to share this.. so i went out on service this morning (i never do i always end up excusing myself because i hate field service) reason i did was to see what the new c.o had to say and he sure did say something.
he was saying what we had to present and he went over the watchtower magazine.

The fact that C.O. encourages using manipulative means to spread the message, demonstrates that the doesn't have much confidence in Jehovah's holy spirit being able to direct the message to "honest hearted ones". -

Why not just hole a pocket watch up in front of their face and hypnotize them ?

What are the new songs that people are talking about?
by dogon ini have heard that there are some or at least one new song that is way out there.
what number is it or a link to it on youtube.
thanks.

All of the new songs I've heard so far have sounded much the same and the lyrics are very preachy to the singers and listeners of the songs rather than praising or worshiping Jehovah. Full of simplistic, predictable, trite JW truisms that sound as if they are trying to convince themselves of something. They are literally preaching to the Choir.
To be blessed we must do this and that,
and we know that blah blah blah is true,
If we want to be happy all our days,
and of course we all know that we do,
if Jehovah god is our friend,
we must be loyal down to the end,
bad old Satan wants us to be sad,
and he makes us think this music is really really bad,
We're all thinking it, you know that it's true,
We keep our mouths shut cause that's what we do.
